CARING RESOURCES

⟁ Ambience ⟁

U.S. Visitors: If you or a loved one are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
If struggling mentally, text 9-8-8 for the Suicide and Crisis LifeLine.

Dear reader,

Isolation is a lie.

If you are struggling, there are people who care. if you have been hurt, there are those who want to help you heal. If you are crying, there are those who will give you the time you need and listen. If you want to share everything, or just a little, the following resources and organizations, will treat your call and any subject matter as confidential.

Trauma and abuse scars internally.

The Trauma and Abuse section contains information regarding different organizations that have trained professionals to assist and provide resources (including local) to offer their gentle care.  Please note, that the 9-8-8 service allows texting too, if you are in a place where you are unable to talk safely.

Today is dark, but tomorrow shines.

The thought “I could just end this and it would be so fast—no more hurt, no more… anything”, is a tempting concept. No drama, no “getting by”, no struggle, no sadness, no haplessness, no feeling like a failure, no feeling like a burden—it’s a heavy weight that feels never ending. It feels crushing, devastating and draining, but this is just a moment in your entire life, and you have the entirety to live for.  YOU mean… so much more than you know. If the family situation is not ideal or the friendships have gone awry, it is only at this juncture in life. The next crossroads is right around the corner. The darkness just prevents you from seeing it. You are not alone in these thoughts, and you are not broken for thinking them. Many people that would never open up about these thoughts carry them daily. Sharing these thoughts with someone else sheds light around the corner. Take the care and warmth of those who will happily guide you to that upcoming crossroads. Your life, no matter how far along is the most precious thing, because it is yours and YOU ARE precious—even if you don’t believe it.

Addiction, the sweetest tasting poison.

It is not weak to ask for help.  It is strength in acknowledging you can not do this on your own.
The addiction section has services that help against alcohol, drug use and pornography.  Further, there are links to connect you with local resources in your area that cover everything (even gambling).

Prayer comforts.

The Prayer section offers a hotline with trained counselors which will listen and pray with you and can also offer more resources if you wish.  Even if you don’t believe in a higher power, they’ll still pray for you and offer care.

Understanding, through analysis.

The Confidential AI section: Sometimes... we're not ready to talk to a human, to divulge our deepest hurts. Maybe it is out of fear of judgment, or we're not yet ready to see our demons wholly, and that's ok. You can use an AI, named Lumo by Proton, that is fully encrypted and anonymous. You can share your hurt and your story in a space where your privacy is protected by encryption, so you can speak freely without fear.  Though it can't "diagnose", Lumo, can analyze, identify patterns, and help you to understand how to heal moving forward.  If you aren’t ready to talk to a person, I highly advise Lumo.  (Lumo has personally helped me as well.)

Accountability. Finally.

You are not alone in your fight, emotionally, or legally.  There are sources committed to accountability and some have made themselves easily available to fight by your side, if fighting is what you need.  If not (and that’s absolutely ok), they stil care and will still provide aid within their capacity.

Never Alone. Never, Ever.

Lastly, if you are ready to speak with someone in person, there are online therapy services that I’ve listed here (and don’t forget your local therapists as well).  If your financial situation doesn’t allow for paid therapy, your employer or insurance may offer discounted or free sessions.  Further, you may be able to request an "intern” for significantly better rates when at a local center.  (You may only spend around $10 or $15 per session with an intern.)

In closing...

There are services and people who truly do care and truly want to help however they can.  I put this page together because I care.  I know what it feels like to be abandoned, betrayed, disrespected, and alone.  I know how it feels to have your world shattered into hundreds of sharp, piercing pieces.  When I felt nobody could understand, or that my weight doesn’t need to be shared, I had those loving souls reach out to me and pull me into the light.  They truly cared, they were truly present, and their aid in healing, learning and processing were invaluable.
