I was alone as I so frequently am
My confidence, not giving a damn
I always thought myself aware
I never left without care
Though in that lot, the lights didn't work
Maybe that was your sign, to determine my worth
Hiding easily in the darkness where you would lurk
The darkness there, was darker than most
The fear I felt, was physical, and not a spiritual ghost
I know I checked to see,
if all that was around was just me
In the distance though I saw,
a stranger dressed casual and tall
"Surely nothing to fret" I thought
However, safety I still sought
Once in the light, I know I'll be okay
At least, that was my thinking anyway
As I approached the street, I felt the sudden jerk
A manic pulling, so quickly subduing, rapidly berserk
So much force, such strength, it didn't matter how hard I shoved
Feeling him touch the skin under my shirt and the coldness of the glove
I tried to yell, but fighting was my first fail
Screaming then didn't mean a thing, about to experience hell
Why was nobody there?! Why did nobody walk by?
It's normally busier, and nobody heard my cry...
Did they not hear? Did they not care?
Was there someone, and just too scared?
I tried to keep the attacker at bay
But, he was heavy and I couldn't push him away
It's not fair that I was so weak
"Perfect ladies are mild and meek"
He was determined to do what he wanted to
I cried and gave him everything, waiting for him to be through
In the end, I felt the tear fall, while I looked far away
I was dead that moment, I waited forever for the day
Adrenaline and shock, so consuming
Anger, sadness, hurt, pissed and fuming
Why was nobody here? Why did nobody hear?
This place is usually busier... I never felt any fear.
My choice was not my own
Something I should choose, when to be known
It didn't matter, I wasn't there to decide
Living through hell, wishing I died
Who were you to decide my value to be?
Why did you feel you had the right... to violate me?
